Lead Frontend Architect / Gold Coast, Australia πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

I architect digital platforms built to evolve.

Lead Frontend Architect building frontend platforms across React, React Native and Angular, with a long-running interest in performance, design, developer experience and how new technology changes the way we build.

Gold Coast, Australia

Building things for the internet since 1996. Usually somewhere between an editor, a terminal, the mountains and the ocean.

Areas I keep returning to

Professional concerns, recurring questions and parts of the web I still enjoy exploring.

  1. 01

    Frontend Architecture

Systems that can change without losing their shape.

  2. 02

    React & React Native

Patterns shared across the browser and native devices.

  3. 03

    The evolving web platform

New capabilities, old lessons and fewer unnecessary layers.

  4. 04

    Web Performance

Fast experiences as an architectural property.

  5. 05

    Design Systems

The meeting point between interface language and engineering.

  6. 06

    Developer Experience

Tools and conventions that make the right path clearer.

  7. 07

    AI-Assisted Engineering

Using faster tools without outsourcing judgement.

  8. 08

    Creative Technology

Interaction, motion and experiments that make the web feel alive.

03 / Engineering philosophy

Architecture should reduce complexity, not relocate it.

I design systems that remain understandable, maintainable and adaptable while products, teams or technologies evolve. AI can multiply and accelerate the work, but traditional human engineering judgement, context and clear standards should remain essential.

04 / Selected portfolio

  1. / Browser game

    Pixel Copter

Thirteen kilobytes. One month. Nothing borrowed.

My entry for js13kGames 2013, a competition defined by its constraints: the finished game has to fit inside 13 KB, you get one month to build it, and it has to run without loading a single external resource. Every asset is your own, with no licensed content, and the whole thing has to answer a theme handed out when the clock starts: in 2013, Bad Luck.

    • One-month jam
    • Bad Luck edition
    • Desktop
  2. / E-commerce platform

    Appliances Online

A platform rebuild designed to keep moving.

In 2015, I began a page-by-page rebuild of a jQuery-heavy e-commerce frontend, establishing a modular Angular and TypeScript foundation focused on performance and maintainability.

    • Angular + TypeScript
    • Page-by-page rebuild

Sign-off / Pacific edge

Still curious after all these years.
